msvbvm50.rar (570.37 KB)
msvbvm50.dll packed with RAR to 570 Kb to keep it under the forum's 1Mb attachment ceiling.
Follows extract of old post of mine at JP's forum (12 April 2014) about what I had to do when passing from Windows XP to Windows 7 back then:
"The OS is Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and old PGX made it complain that there was a dll missing: msvbvm50.dll
Luckily I could obtain it (or better saying its installer) from the same link mentioned in JC's page for VBRun60.
It was also required to use 7's troubleshooting feature to set PGX's executables to Windows XP with SP2 compatibility mode.
Only did it for Pgx3 and pgxmaped but I believe we can guesstimate it is also required for EDITPOL and pgx_edit."
Clarifications:
1. I obtained it passing through the VBRun60 page, not on that page.
VBRun60 does not install msvbvm50.dll.
I just launched a search for the dll from the VB page, that's why I mention it.
2. The Windows 7 troubleshooting part - setting the game's exe files to XP with SP2 compatibility mode - I only had to do once.
Since then, on running a new PGX version the new exes seem to pick the settings automatically.
3. Maybe because I obtained the thing in the form of an installer I didn't mention any location for the dll.
The file above is the thing itself so you'll need to unpack it from it's RAR casing into a certain folder inside the Windows folder.
In my case - with Windows 7 of 64 bit - I have it in SysWOW64 folder. Path: hard drive letter, usually C:\Windows\SysWOW64
I imagine in 32 bit versions it should be System32 folder.
In Windows 10 it probably means equal or similar names with "System" or "Sys" on them.
