Remember when Chinese Units in PTO were not showing the experience medals progress? Progress was registered, adding over strength points worked once the required xp was achieved. It was just the medals not showing... on top right corner. Same thing in Nap with Tanks. I have just detected it happening with Wurttemburg. Just added a strength point 11 to a Wurt AD when medals are showing completely blank. Will keep eyes peeled for other countries... (it surely is not happening with all countries). Venetia too.

I will check that out. I have not actually touched PGX in a about 6 weeks ! I have been working on the 'Grenadier' version of the game. I just about get a Beta version ready to upload, then I notice some really big problem I need to fix first. I actually finished two test games completely yesterday. It is rather clunky, and a bit like a Frankenstein Monster. There was a LOT more to do than I really thought about before I started. I am glad I did not think too much about it, or I probably would not have started. I have a fairly usable crude set of unit graphics. Created some new Terrain graphics. (Slopes) Re-wrote part of the unit editor to match the new unit stats. Tried to create some new graphics for the interface. Swiped a bunch of .wav files from other games. Started incorporating the new unit class (leaders) into the game. The Combat results table is from SPI Grenadier, but that does not really match the unit scale I am going to have for the game. It is going to be changed. Like I said, it is a bit of a Frankenstein, but I think it may turn out to be a pretty fun game. With any luck I will post a beta version tomorrow. Friday.
But, today I will take a break, and try out the PGX Wurttemburg flag, and controlled country bugs. I got a couple darned old 'work' things they called about too. Plus I gotta make a batch of Rice Crispy Treats. (Grandson is a bit sick today, and I said I would.) Plus I got a lot of rice crsipies clogging up the shelf. Oh yeah...I have been a bit scatter focused. I am trying to re-do my web page. I have not really made any changes to it in like 12 years ? It really needs an update.

On a sad note. I just found out John Tiller has died. He will be missed. There is a nice "Memoriam" at Wargame Design Group's Web site. wargameds.com/pages/about-us-wds

On a sad note. I just found out John Tiller has died. He will be missed. There is a nice "Memoriam" at Wargame Design Group's Web site. wargameds.com/pages/about-us-wdsSurely a historic name for computer strategic gaming. A curiosity on skimming through the link. There is a text about a João Lima, a Portuguese name. It mentions the lack of board games in his home country. So, it is not just me who noticed that. Well, at a certain point in time one or two select shops in the capital did get a few board (war) games. And other stuff that took long years to arrive. Then came e-commerce which wasn't too bad for most customers but was devastating for the specialized shops. Yes, the Grenadier version giving more work than anticipated was predictable. Contradictory but makes sense to me...

I was just in there working on the Wurttemburg medal bug in PGX . I know what is happening.
The medals.txt file in the Europe1800 folder was not fixed for the new nations. Even after fixing the file I noticed the wrong data gets loaded in when you load a saved game.
I am saving the Nations data, strength tiles, medal numbers, etc. when it saves a game. Not exactly sure why I am doing this. Saved game saves the module
name. (Europe1800) it loads the correct data. Then a little while later loads the wrong data from the save file ?! The only reason I can think of why I did this...is that it allows adding new nations during the game. On the fly so, to speak. Like Communist rebels to fight the Fascists, to fight the Western Allies backed factions, to fight royalists !?! Which I have not actually coded yet, but thought about. Anyway...I think I will get it fixed today too. Hopefully get an update ready for this week. Although this week is going to be darned busy (work-wise). There are two different Christmas Parties this week, and I am expected to attend. I do not mind actually, and I like eating, and fun. Christmas shopping, gutter cleaning, I put a Christmas tree up, it has a few lights, but I have not finished decorating. Luckily I still had a bunch of lights left in the Living Room from last Christmas. (I never took them down. I did not turn them on except for special occasions though.)

Turn 150 of Napoleonic with Tanks match 3 (I think). The heretics at the Papal State have declared war on Warsaw, an ally of the French Empire. We will have to show those apostates who holds the true faith...

I think Napoleon will have to take them Pope hostage at some point. To get his divorce from Josefine ?

Merry Christmas ! A belated, but heartfelt post to any, and all who should read this.
Here, a toast. May all wars soon be but small, imaginary, virtual, fun games. May true war be an almost forgotten part of our ugly past.

Napoleon with tanks match 1, turn 256.
The French reached the Black Sea at Burgas - coast of Bulgaria if it was vanilla WWII. Austria and Prussia are already pretty much overrun. A few island outposts is all that remains of them. There is some advance into Russian Empire already. Ireland has managed to keep the British at bay. Norway is having severe difficulties against mounting attacks. Finland remains under occupation save for a few isolated spots controlled by partisan forces. Spain has been quiet for a long period, trying to recover a good number of units that were mauled during early stages. Some countries of the French Empire coalition are now outputting well. Besides France itself, the best example is the Duchy of Warsaw, which quickly blossomed from occupied to number 2 on the production roster.
